The HP LaserJet Enterprise M608x is very fast and can handle up to 100 pages per minute when printing in A5 and 61 pages per minute when printing in A4. Its fast print speed is also highlighted by a first page out time as fast as 5.3 sec and a wake-up time of 7.8 sec. The HP LaserJet Enterprise M608x is also very efficient and durable with a monthly duty cycle of 275,000 pages and recommended monthly page volume of 5,000 to 25,000 pages. The M608x's best fit is any medium to large office with fast, efficient high-volume basic monochrome printing needs that does not need Wi-Fi connectivity.

Bottom Line

Like the other printers in the M600 series, the HP LaserJet Enterprise M608x is a basic monochrome printer with fast, efficient printing and high print resolution creating crisp, high-quality text and images. The HP LaserJet Enterprise M608x, like the other M600 printers, features HP Sure Start security which assists in preventing viruses, malware, and other attacks. With the HP Sure Start feature, the M608x is able to self-detect such attacks and reboot itself while sending an alert to the administrator.

The HP LaserJet Enterprise M608x also features HP ePrint, wireless direct printing, Apple Airprint, and Mopria-Certified apps. Aside from this, the M608x is relatively light on features for its price. Unlike the HP LaserJet Enterprise M607n and HP LaserJet Enteprise M607dn, the M608x does feature automatic duplex printing and high/ extra high-yield toner cartridge compatibility which are notable additions to these earlier M600 series printers.

The HP LaserJet Enterprise M608x has notable shortcomings for an office printer- like its lack of Wi-Fi connectivity and its lack of color printing which both can be inconvenient for office printing. The M608x also is a basic one-function printer that does not have fax, copy, and scan capability, also limiting for certain office settings. Overall, for medium-large office settings seeking a fast, efficient, durable printer with flexible paper handling and high-level security features, and do not need Wif-Fi, color printing, or copy/scan/fax capability, the HP LaserJet Enterprise M608x is a nice option.
