Toner is expensive, but we’ve rounded up the cheapest toners of 2026 to help drive your print costs way down.
Most of these toner cartridges are under 60 bucks and will allow you to print for less than a penny per page!
How We Find The Cheapest Toners
We spent a day in our warehouse comparing prices and page yields of our entire inventory. Dividing the price by the projected page yield gave us a rough idea of the cost per page.
While higher-yield cartridges can lower the cost per page, they do not always make sense for every user. We also considered the upfront price, which is usually under $60, to determine which toners offer the most value.
Bear in mind, this isn’t a 100% accurate reflection of print costs since it doesn’t factor in the cost of the paper you’re printing on. But it does tell you which toner gives you the most for your money. (Spoiler: It’s not HP!)

HP
HP is by far the most expensive printer toner on the market. We were hard-pressed to find an affordable HP toner cartridge to deliver prints under a nickel per page.

If you want to print for under two cents per page on an HP LaserJet, you'll need to spend some money upfront to purchase OEM HP high-yield cartridges.
Using high-yield cartridges will deliver tens of thousands of printed pages for around two cents each.

Toner prices can change based on supply and demand. The more popular the brand, the higher the replacement toner cost.
We found the cheapest toners from brands no longer widely sold, such as Sharp and Panasonic. If you find a good deal on a gently used Canon toner, you can be printing for pennies for years to come.
The most expensive toner comes from the most popular brands, like Brother and HP. There are no truly “cheap” options for these brands, but choosing high-yield cartridges can bring your cost per page down to under a penny.
