Celebrate National Employee Appreciation Day!

National Employee Appreciation Day has been around for decades, but many companies are slow to embrace the celebration. Why? Your business is only as good as your staff. Show them how much you appreciate their efforts!

How Toner Buzz Celebrates National Employee Appreciation Day

National Employee Appreciation Day is celebrated on the first Friday in March. According to the National Law Review, studies show that recognition and appreciation drive employee happiness and engagement. As a result, more companies are getting on board with National Employee Appreciation Day!

We celebrate Toner Buzz employees year-round, but here are a few staff activities you can adapt for National Employee Appreciation Day!

Free Food, Free Coffee

Let’s face it, everybody likes free stuff. Something as simple as free bagels and coffee goes a long way toward saying “thank you” to your hard-working staff. Don’t just make it something you do this Friday for National Employee Appreciation Day…make free coffee and bagels an every Friday thing!

Here at Toner Buzz we cater a staff lunch whenever a member of the staff celebrates a birthday! Nothing says “We appreciate you!” like pizza and chicken nuggets! Happy Birthday, Toner Buzzers!

Token Gifts

Small gifts make a big impression. Raffling off a few gift cards can really boost employee morale.

There’s always a game or contest going on around the Toner Buzz office. The Toner Buzz Fitness Challenge, the Pot-Luck Lunch, the Secret Santa Gift Exchange...we always find a reason to celebrate here at Toner Buzz. The end prize is usually a gift card to a local restaurant or a Visa gift card. Everybody loves to win something!

During the winter months, we hold our staff lunches in the Toner Buzz warehouse.

Go Somewhere Fun

After the last Toner Buzz Holiday Party, a bunch of the staff went to throw axes. It was a good time, a fun bonding experience, and — amazingly — no one got hurt!

Whether you’re racing go-karts or going to a bingo parlor, group activities with your co-workers outside the office is a great way to improve relationships within the office. At the very least, it’s a way for all employees, new and old, to learn everybody’s name and role within the company. Everybody’s on the same team!

Summertime means Toner Buzz picnics!

Give Time Off

Okay, this might be a stretch, but allow each employee to pick a day when they need to leave early, maybe to catch a doctor’s appointment, or watch their kid’s ball game after school. It’s a small gesture that means a lot. With proper planning, it shouldn’t impact productivity either.
